An afternoon on the golf course, a costly driveway replacement and an environmental hazard. While these three events might seem unrelated to each other, they are actually directly linked. Eco Friendly Power Washing is proud to serve the state’s golf hub, and we’re also proud to ensure that teeing up doesn’t cost you or the environment.
The Issue:
Virtually all golf carts run on battery. When these batteries are over-charged, over-filled, or left uncapped, they’ll begin to leak. The unwilling recipient? Your concrete garage floor or driveway.
Battery acid is comprised of sulfuric acid. When it makes contact with concrete, it eats away at the surface. To make matters worse, it continues to react every time it gets wet. What might have begun as a small stain can quickly blossom into a large one — And it will create an unsightly orange stain while it deteriorates the concrete.
Aside from the aesthetic impact and degenerative effect, battery stains pose a serious environmental threat. Battery stains spread where there is water. Inevitably, water makes its way to storm drains. When this happens, water sources are contaminated and you come into conflict with local, state, and national stormwater regulations.
The Solution:
This professional approach:
- Neutralizes the battery stain’s pH and turns the matter into benign sodium sulfate
- Cleans the remaining discoloration to leave your surface stain-free
- Chemically locks into the pores of the concrete to provide enhanced resistance to future staining
Our process results in an eco-friendly bi-product that is biodegradable. This allows us to safely complete the cleaning process in a way that is effective and environmentally responsible.
